Basil Papayoti is a Founding Partner and Executive Director of SkyView Consulting Partners. Basil has 25 plus years of aerospace experience which includes leading engineering, production, planning, continuous improvement, supply chain, and commercial organizations. Basil’s activities involve developing the strategy, business concept, impact analysis, executive reporting, and negotiating contracts.

In 2013, the Board of Directors of GA Telesis appointed Basil Papayoti as President of their GATES subsidiary; In 2014, Basil was also added as a member of the GATES Board of Directors.

Under his leadership, Basil built commercial divisions at ACTS and Delta TechOps (DTO) which accelerated their MRO insourcing businesses consistently to double digit year over year growth. Basil also led the formation of strategic alliances and business partnerships, as well as securing new customers for ACTS and DTO. His Sales Teams were responsible for winning short and long term MRO contracts totaling more than $3B.

Basil’s Strategy and Marketing Teams led the development of the business case for acquiring ACTS' heavy maintenance low cost source and negotiated major MRO agreements with OEMs. Further, his Marketing Teams were responsible for launching logo/identities with new advertisement campaigns which achieved award-winning recognition in 2005 (“Outstanding New Campaign” by the Canadian Marketing magazine, “Strategy”) and in 2003 (“The Harvey” and “Flame” Awards).

His Operations experience includes starting shops from inception (V2500, and ALF/CFE) to integrating Continuous Improvement (HPWO/Six Sigma/Lean tools) within existing organizational cultures at Allied Signal — Phoenix, Aviall Engine Services — Dallas, and DTO — Atlanta. Additionally, at DTO, Basil led the Planning and Production Teams responsible for producing and delivering 700 plus engines per year at world–class turn times and test acceptance rates. Prior to joining DTO, Basil led a strategic purchasing realignment within Allied Signal’s Marketing, Sales and Services division.

Basil earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M in 1985, an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1987 and completed the Executive Development Program at Thunderbird School of Global Management 2003. He began his professional aviation career as an Engineer Scientist with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation in 1988.
